The Election Process: Evote Web Service makes it possible to incorporate best-of-breed election functionality into your own web site by consuming Evote Web Service. Voters will visit your web site to login and access the ballot, so you are free to make the election pages look and feel exactly as you want. The election functionality and storage of the ballots however, is still handled by ElectionsOnline. The Guide to Conducting Evote Express/Web Service Elections explains the process in detail, but the general procedure is:

Step through the Evote Setup Assistant (available at your account) where you’ll set up your election.
Consume the web services as explained in the Guide to Conducting Evote Express/Web Service Elections.
Test the system to ensure everything is working reliably and the results tally as expected.
Recalibrate the election to remove any trace of testing.
The election begins and you notify your voters of where to go on your web site to vote.
Send personalized email reminders if you wish, to those who have not yet voted reminding them to do so.
The election closes and you login to your account to retrieve the election results. The Sample Elections Results page shows the information available from the results.
